Hi ,

I'm having problems using dao functions such as CDaoWorkspace::RepairDatabase with regards to Access2000 MDBs..The function works, however, for me with Access97 MDBs.What am I doing wrong? Do I need anything else apart from the include of 'afxdao.h'? Thanx 4 all hlps!!

Hi

Watch Out !!! DAO changes a lot from Access 97 to Access 2000. The version is not the same ( 3.5 to 3.6 if my memory is correct .... humm, don't rely to much on that)
And, worst, coding have changed too. If you are using Windows XP, be prepared also to get some access (..) privileges troubles.

I used DAO and Access during two years. IMHO, Access is not a good choice. If you have the opportunity to use SQL Server, don't hesitate a quarter of a second and use ADO. It's much easier, handle true stored procedures, and, best of all, it relies truly on Windows login to handle the login to the database. Goodbye, system.mda, system.mdw, ...

My two cents

Thierry
