Hello everyone,

I have a problem with Outlook Express 6 on a Win98 machine and hope you can help. Basically, after an "illegal operation" error message that closed down OE6, my Inbox practically refused to come up.

Thinking that Inbox might be too big (550Meg) for OE to open, i brought total RAM up to 300+Meg, but Inbox remained showing 0 message(s). Funny thing is if i continue receiving messages, i noticed the Inbox grew accordingly, but still i can only see those newer messages. Plz note that this is not a case of "Show only unread messages".

MS site shows no recovery/repair procedure for "possibly damaged" mailbox. Any suggestions/recommendations/comments are greatly appreciated

Hello yiz,

I understood that by deleting the Inbox in question, a new one will be created, however, I have messages within Inbox that are valuable to me, thereby, I need to be able to either restore or repair or recover it somehow ... Am I SOL?

Thanx!
