I have an individual who somehow managed to change Outlook
XP/Exchange Server 2000 "Inbox" to the name of a subfolder
located under the former Inbox. The content stored in the
folders did not change, just the physical "Inbox" name.
How she did this, I am unsure, since the properties name
of the Inbox, is locked and no "rename" options are
available.

Because of this modification, Outlook Web Access is
erroring on her, as it is looking for the "Inbox" which it
cannot find.

Does anyone know of a way to manually change the inbox
back to saying "Inbox," either on the client machine or
the server? To solve our problems.

Thank you in advance.

Can you not rename the folder back?

1.) Exmerge and delete mailbox.
2.) Rename with exchng32.exe
3.) MBDVUE which is really non-gui :) Dan

Xybertron -

Thank you for your help. However, I have several issues:

I am reluctant to use the EXMERGE/delete method, as this user has 35,000+ e-mail messages, stored in hundreds of folders. Politically, I would not feel comfortable using this method, in case something did not work correctly or was lost.

I am assuming from your Exchng32.exe suggestion, you mean the Exchange System Manager. I do not see anywhere inside of Exchange2K's System Manager, where you can get down to the individual's inbox level, to make the modification.

Lastly, I did not see any documentation at Microsoft's support website, on MBDVUE, can you provide any further insight into this method???

Thanks again.

Scott

Oops its MDBVUE.

Nah Exchng32 is the old Exchange Client. The bad stuff before Outlook :) Dan
