Using Exchange IMC.

Am having trouble receiving email from our service provider. Outbound mail is fine.

We have Exchange Server inside a PIX 501 which is connected to the outside world via a BT ADSL router.

IP of router is fixed at (examples) 1.2.3.5, we also have fixed ip's 1.2.3.1/2/3/4. Internal IP of Exchange Server is 4.3.2.1. Have got service provider to point mx to 1.2.3.4. Set additional IP on Exchange server machine to 1.2.3.4.

Set static on PIX to :-
static (inside,outside) 1.2.3.4 4.3.2.1

Set access list :-
access-list acl_out permit tcp host 1.2.3.4 any eq smtp

Has anyone got answer/ideas where problem might be?

Thanks.

HI.

>> Set additional IP
Why additional IP?
Why not use the IP you already have?

>> access-list acl_out permit tcp host 1.2.3.4 any eq smtp
The syntax is wrong, this is the correct one:
access-list acl_out permit tcp any host 1.2.3.4 eq smtp

Use syslog messages to get more info and troubleshoot.

Bye

Many thanks Yizhar. The access-list statement was wrong. I corrected an all OK now.

I set the additional, fixed, IP on the server as you recommended to someone in an earlier thread! Maybe I mis-understood.
