Does anyone know of a way where caller-ID or ANI can be blocked on a per-station basis using ISDN-PRI trunks?
Avaya has apparently said that it's possible but no one has been able to provide back up documentation stating how it is actually done. The information provided so far have not worked. Has anyone been requested to do this ever for a prison or anything? I'd love to know how to accomplish this if it is possible.

Bee77,

use "Per Station CPN - Send Calling Number?" field on page 2 of station form.

that works with blocking inbound caller-ID as well on a per-station basis? I thought that was only used for outbound restriction sending ANI.

Bee77,

yes, that's for outbound. you can't block inbound caller id, it's sent by the remote side.

yah, that was my thought so, but i have been sorta forced to be convinced that it is possible, however, as i said, Avaya cannot seem to back it up even tho they said it can be done and that they did in fact do it for a prison.

Bee77,

i don't understand. if you don't want your phones to display caller id, isn't it easier to change these phones for displayless?

uh, yah, but i'm dealing witha customer that likes the 24xx sets which are all display and desi-less, so that's not a viable solution at this point. This is a new installation, and Avaya said it could be done soooo, i sit and wait. :)

And this would be the first time that sales sold something that could not be done???

I dont think so.....

"You don't stop playing because you get old. You get old because you stopped playing."

dude, i'm sooo with you.
i hate the sales people. they'll say anything to make a sale, but that's ok, i put it right back on them to scramble and get the answer. i Gave up lookin (well, sorta) because i told them in the beginning as a pretty damn good software specialist that i knew of no way to do it, so that's cool.
someone else will get the heat, but not me! woohoo

isn't there an option to show the trunk group name instead of the caller ID? or is that just for outbound calls

that might be system wide, though, not just station by station

personally, I think they're crazy to not take advantage of the caller ID

Sometimes the users will screen their calls with the caller-id. I know, but it does happen. I have one department that asked if it could be done on their ACD group. I finally found that you could program their phones as a 6408 and remove the D+ to make them a non-display phone. It sucks, but sometimes we have to do things like this.

"You don't stop playing because you get old. You get old because you stopped playing."

And i wonder if you can do that even if they have a 24xx phone that is pretty much display based as it is? I don't think i can. Then they won't be able to see the feature buttons for their phone and i can't have that.
If this customer had 64xx phones, sure, i'd do that in a heartbeat but i don't have that luxury here.
