Monitor places a very high load on the IP Office system, especially if you select all the trace options. Essentially Monitor shows a full repeat of all the internal communications between various internal hardware interfaces in the system - which in real-time could be very busy.
However I've never heard of it resetting a system, just that the more options you try to monitor, the more chance of missed packets from the trace (and missed packets for any other apps trying to put data across the same network link).
In the past excessive network traffic has been seen to trip up IP Offices, especially viruses that put out continuous stream of IP packets.
If this happens with Monitor set to minimal trace options, then I would suspect a version mismatch or something else more malicious running on the same PC as monitor.
