I am using IP Office 3.0 and 4412D+ phones with a PRI T1. When the called number displays on the phones the number always has a 9 in front of it. The 9 also shows up in the call status application. Does anyone know if this is an IP Office issue or a CO issue. I don't have a T1 monitor or I could easily check. Thanks.

Actually you do have a t1 monitor. Run the monitor app and select the Layer 2 and 3 settings.

?Do you dial a 9 for your outgoing calls, if so then its consistent for the system to add that 9 to incoming CLID's to enable them to be used for return calls.

[Yes, it would be nice if the IP Office handled dialing prefixes nicer but then it was originally designed not to need any until Avaya US insisted that people really really wanted to dial thoe extra digits].

The monitor app has been anoter issue for me. When I run it, it continuously reboots the IP office system and I haven't tried using it anymore.

The customer does dial 9 for outgoing calls.

Monitor places a very high load on the IP Office system, especially if you select all the trace options. Essentially Monitor shows a full repeat of all the internal communications between various internal hardware interfaces in the system - which in real-time could be very busy.

However I've never heard of it resetting a system, just that the more options you try to monitor, the more chance of missed packets from the trace (and missed packets for any other apps trying to put data across the same network link).

In the past excessive network traffic has been seen to trip up IP Offices, especially viruses that put out continuous stream of IP packets.

If this happens with Monitor set to minimal trace options, then I would suspect a version mismatch or something else more malicious running on the same PC as monitor.

Thanks, I'll try that with the monitor.

Where can I change the prefix settings on the T1? I can't find these settings.

In the line tab of that T1 line

National prefix etc

But as sizbut wrote the 9 is there for use of return calls
