I have an NEC ICS 120 connected to a CPS voicemail System ( ver 6 windows based) using Inband signalling. It has stopped setting Message wait lamps when messages are left.
I have tested all 4 ports using the message waiting codes that are assigned in the voicemail system so I can pretty much rule out the pabx as being the cause.
I Would assume that when the message is left the voicemail should either use the same port or select a new one and dial the message wait set code followed by the ext number.
This is not happening. I can listen acroos the port and hear the call come in , the digits ( ext number) are being sent and the message is left but then the line is dropped nd nothing else happens. Looking at the ext data in the voicemail it is flagged as having a message wait but it wont dial the codes.
The voicemail no longer has a maintenance contract [cutbacks :-( ]. Can anyone assist .
Even a cheat sheet on cps and inband may be of help
