Hey Guys,

How do I find mac addreses that have been inactive for 30 days or more, on my network?

Thanks,

Maverick

Most tables (MAC, ARP) only allow for inactivity aging in time frames of one day or less, often 30 min. or there abouts. I don't think you can do what you are asking for.

Unix IS user friendly... It's just selective about who its friends are.

I just want an excel sheet displaying the inactive mac addresses.

You would probably need a sniffer that logs all MAC addresses in a database and updates the record with a 'last seen' timestamp
I wrote a tool like that a while ago, but unfortunately it is protected under my company's intellectual property policy...
If you know how to code in VB or VB.Net, then I can give you some code snippets on what your application would look like

How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?
