we just had our norstar 8x24 with a star talk mini reinstall after being stored for 2 years and the sys came up fine and was working but once the auto attendent message was changed it worked for a day and when you would try to access v/mail you get an error saying inactive feature and if you unplug the mini and wait 15 to 20 min and plug back in it comes back up fine and goes back down 12 to 24 hours later

Thanks Matt

Sounds to me like it might be a bad Startalk mini . I would sugest haveing a certified Nortel dealer look at it to see if it is repairable or if a new unit is needed If you find a tip helpful Please take a moment to mark it as such.

It sounds like the harddrive is going out.

YOu may be able to find a dealer who sells those harddrives, and get it changed out cheaper that buying a new voice mail.

check your port connections fron the ksu to the startalk. make sure you have cross connect, connected to telephone wire, connected to a telephone jack, connected to a modular cord, connected to the startalk. and not your cross connect, connected to a cut modular cord, connected to your startalk. or telephonre wire with a modular crimp on it into the startalk. I have found the connections are not always good with the last two. It is just enough to make the startalk work... usually not for long.

west coaster, if you were registered and not a visitor, I'd give you TWO STARS for that!! Had a couple of installers that use to use jumper wire with crimp connectors on their Flash installs and as you said, it's enough to make them work...usually not for long. It's guaranteed repeat trouble!
