Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie here and my issues is the following: We had a power outage over the weekend, systemis now saying inactive feature whenever you try 981 or 983. I have tried power cycing the unit and waiting for it to come back up with no luck. What do I need to do next?

Thanks,
Jim

Go into XFTEST and delete ALL inactive feature codes, then power cycle the MICS and the voice mail (you didn't say if you had MICS or CICS, CallPilot or NVM, but process is the same):

1. Feature **938378
2. Enter CONFIG password
3. Select FIRST soft key
4. FOr each feature code that shows up, select TEST, if it comes up inactive, select REMOVE, then NEXT, and do TEST on next code.
5. Once all inactive codes are removed, shut off the power to both phone system and voice mail for about 10 secs. then turn power back on.
6. After system comes back up, you can use XFTEST to check the codes. It may take several mnutes after the phone system comes up fo rthe voice mail codes to reinstall and become active again

When I did the above and go back in there is only one active code, nothing else came back. Any idea's???

Thanks,
Jim

If that one active code if feature 903, you're going to have to reprogram from scratch. Press f903, and ok. Press f9*1, and ok. Press f983...

It takes a few minutes for the codes to re-register. If they don't within 10 minutes, I would try power cycling the units again. Turn on the power to both of them at the same time. If that still doesn't work, I would try powering up one then the other, both combinations, before I felt I had to resort to starting from scratch. It is also possible in powering the units up to have some codes come back up, but inactive. Go through XFTEST again and remove them and power cycle yet again.

Things to do when vmail is down

Try F983, if says password then system has defaulted
Try F903, if says Feature codes to use for vmail then system has defaulted.
If both show inactive then go into maintenance of KSU and see if the ports show vmail.
Check connections.
Do XFTEST to remove codes and reboot vmail.

You need to post what voicamail system you have and what version for best results on this forum.

Cheers
CC
