Hello all, has anyone come across this before?
I have a Word document template that has no standard toolbars but three custom ones. Some of the buttons thereon are the standard Word features, and others point to Macros that I have written.
I then call this template from an application that kicks off Word, performs a mail merge with data from a .csv file and a template document, and then display the merged document (with new toolbars) to the user for additional text etc.
When I run the application for the first time, all works as expected. I close the merged document and return to the calling application. Word is left running in the background as an empty document, which is expected. The toolbars that are displayed on this document are the original MS Word ones.
When I run the application a second time, when the merged document is displayed, I can amend the text etc, and I have focus on the form. But, all the toolbar buttons are inactive. They will remain inactive until I switch to another application on my XP machine and return to the merged document, and then all is well.
Here’s the rub - my application works perfectly well and repeats fine on a Windows NT / Word 97 machine, but as above on an XP / Word 2000 machine.
We intend to upgrade (!) to the latter in two months.
I have tried using application events, but as yet with no success.
Do you or anyone else have any ideas or information as to where I might find a solution?
I would be very grateful, for any help you could provide
