I know you have to do the following but not sure which order –

Plug cables into a director port

Create zones on the switches/directors

Create “Host Storage Domains” or ”Host Groups”

Determine capacity requirements for the new server

Determine World Wide Port Names of the new server’s fibre channel cards.

Please can someone help me and tell me 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc

Thanks

1. plug cables
2. determine WWPN
3. create required zones in switches
4. can storage see new WWPN?
5. create storage group (associate LUNs to host)
6. can host see assigned LUNs?
7. partition and format from OS as desired.

Cheers.

Excellent

Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated.

I am now getting a report that the end user cannot see any of the “disks” on the server

the problem should be in the storage level(I guess that storage can see the host), what is the storage array? it must be something with the host group (storage group in the case of clarrion arrays).

Cheers.

Now I'm getting a message that the end user can only see one path to the disk?

only one path to the disks? could be a FC cable problem or zonning at switch level.

Cheers.
