As I stated in a previous thread, I'm not a noob to networking and hardware, but I AM a noob where POS systems are concerned.
Here's my deal/problem:
I have 8 days to get a system that will tie into 4 venues on the same property (a Pier in OOB, ME). They recently purchased some barely used equipment from an outfit in FL for pennies on the $. I'll list what it is below so someone might help me figure out my next move....
I have to have this stuff all running networked and programmed (food/drinks) in a short time and I'm working alone.
This is what they bought:
Positouch Posiflex JIVA terminals (TP-5815, X2)
Positouch J2 520EX (X2)
Epson TM-T88IV receipt printers (X4) I have no problems with integrating those.
Nurit 8000 series wireless cr cd swipes (X4)
VivoTech RFID (I think) antenna (X1)
First Data FD 100 wired cr cd swipe (X1)
I'm having difficulty finding any documentation on any of this hardware and although what I've found says that the Posiflex stuff have onboard HDD's, I'm pretty sure they don't have an OS since I fired a couple of them up and see nothing.
I do know that the server/tower that was part of the system when built didn't come with it when they bought it. The system prolly needs one, right? If so, how does it all tie together?
The stuff has Pinnacle stickers all over it so I'm assuming that the system was put together for this restaurant by them.
And of course they'll be licensing issues after it's all up and running. The dude that bought the stuff for us hasn't a clue about such matters and I have no software, no manuals, nothing..... Our other venue (which I got up and running with 2 terminals) uses Aldelo and I'd like to have them purchase additional licenses for the new stuff so that the back office/payroll, etc, won't have 2 databases to contend with.
I'm a dead man, right? LOL
