Hi all
I wonder if someone could help me out. I am developing a web based software package that will be used by both company and customer, with varying degree´s of access.
One section of the package is a Point-of-Sale package, thus speed is of the essence (for the company side only, not the customers).
My question is would it be best for the Web Server to be based at the company or at a Internet Provider House.
If i set the Web Server up inhouse then the system would retain speed (at the company) as it would be accessed over a local network, while the customers would access it over the net. My only problem is the added cost and the extra admin. I believe it would take a T1 line which is very expensive, or is it possible to get away with some kind of xDSL.
If i was to house the software at a internet house, would i beable to guarentee a link to the company that would be satisfactory for a POS system (among other features). Plus would a high degree of security settings be allowed.
Any help would be grateful.
Thanks
Matt
