I read somewhere that Cisco basically gives you 300 points on the CCNA exam just for showing up and signing the agreement paper, and the remaining 700 are distributed among the 45 to 55 questions asked. True or False?

Also, do the test simulator qusetions require the entire command to be typed, or can you use abreviations?

True, cisco does give you points to start out with, although that does not matter if you do not know your stuff 100%. As far as the simulations go, you can use it just like a real router, although some commands are greyed out because you can't use them. In certain cases this is an advantage because you can only do one or two commands. All you need is the end result so don't worry if you don't know how to directly solve the problem.
