In Accpac 2012 when using a text field with a set length the length is disregarded

I created an optional field called SSN with a length set to 9 characters. However, when I added this optional field to AR Ship-to Locations the field allowed up to 60 characters to be entered. Is there a way to get Accpac to stop entry after 9 characters? Like setting the maxlength of a field in VB.

ettienne (TechnicalUser) you mention that this "is a bug". Can you include a link to the article that you got this information from?

No - there not one. Other users have reported the same and I tested on my install, it behaves the same way.
