Hi

It's been about 5 years since I had to do a backup on an IMX and I would prefer not to look stupid when I go onsite so could someone give me a refresher on the procedures. I have IMX_MAT_R11_3.00 and whilst there was a small glitch whilst loading it, it seems to have installed OK (I'll find out for sure when I get on site).

Thanks in advance.

The procedures on nectekhelp seems to be for the IPX, I didn't think the IMX had a CF card?

True, the older IMX did not have one. The command is BKUPI. The first back up option is to the HDD. You'll see the options on the command. The back up to get it to the MAT is another option, but it may take some time to complete. Even older system used BKUP to a floppy disk on the PC MAT.

I seem to remember that you stayed away from the backup to MAT as it would take forever. I think the go is backup to floppy and then copy that to the PC and I was thinking it was BKUPI. I seem to remember that you do a backup to HDD then do the backup to FDD or you could end up with old information (I think it backs up the HDD version rather than the running version (a bit like the IPS and the flash backup)

Yes, always back up to HDD first, then to floppy. Make no changes to the database until all back ups are done.
You might want to back up the speed dial data too. BOSD, by port micro/per card.

We always used to do this

mem-hdd - copies from ram to the local HDD
hdd-mat copies from HDD to laptop

you can insert floppies into the drive and backup direct which is MUCH faster ( i think you need 10-15 )

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

and due to an endless stream of MiCollab , MiCC issues
Life would be simpler If only they tested products properly before releasing them .....
