Hi all,

It appears as though the Internet Mail Service is maxing out our resources of CPU and RAM. We have tried all of the first step troubleshooting tecniques (restart application, reboot the server, free up more HD space) to no avail. Everyone here is pretty much at the Intermediate level (except for myself, the beginner) when it comes to Exchange Server, but one person has spent about 12 hours on the phone with a more advanced Network Admin.

If anyone has ANY ideas, PLEASE let me know. Also if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. My description of the problem is very vauge because I don't really know what is going on. We have had this problem on our server for three days now and can't seem to find the issue.

Do you have a big queue on your outgoing internet email traffic?
It could be as simple that someone is using your mailserver to send out millions of emails.
If nothing is done with an exchange 5.5 server this is open to everyone.
