Hi

Basically I have three exchange boxes in one site, I wanted to remove one of the boxes. This box used to hold our emails and IMS and Notes Connector. I have moved over everyone’s mailboxes to a new server and wish to move these two connectors also. I was wondering if could create two new connectors one IMS and the Notes Connector on the new box with out causing a conflict in the exchange site. Then after I know it is working remove the old connectors.

Regards

Bhavesh

Bhavesh,

The IMS is easy. Just create and configure a new one on one of the other servers. Once you know it's working okay remove any "Address Space" entries from the old server and all smtp mail will be routed via the new IMS. Don't forget to update any inbound routing i.e. MX records as required before removing the old box. Unfortunately I don't know about the Notes connector as I've never used one but if it is anything like the X.400 Connector then you should be able to "move" it from one server to another without any major issues.
