I've checked threads here and it seems that IMS is not supported on Vista, but I couldn't find anything concrete.

Does anyone know if IMS is supported on a Vista client ? If not, is Avaya working on this - Vista's been out for 1.5 years now.

Avoid IMS totaly
Move to V4.2 & UMS

it will work with ANY IMAP client which means it will also work with linux & Max as well as windows (I have even had it working with my mobile phone!).

Yes. But, IMAP clients will not deliver voice mail messages to a handheld device. That's why our client needs IMS. They are running Vista and want their VM messages sync'ed and also delivered to their handhelds.

Yes they can. I do it on mine. set up a rule in outlook for that account and forward the message to the blackberry. Works for me. And the big new feature with UMS the AVAYA is stupidly not publicizing is in the email header you get Caller ID NAME and number. For me, that enough to always want to sell UMS!

I can configure my Nokia to access the IMAP server & play the msg.

Avay will not be developing IMS any further so UMS is the way forward.

IMHO it is the way things should have been done from day one because it does not rely on any 3rd party application (Exchange/Outlook) which (could) break the operation any time a microsoft update is installed
