Hi

Can anyone offer some advice. I wish to create a table that contains improper or vulgar fractions i.e. 11/4, these actually represent 'odds'. I have looked in the help file and tried to search on the web but can not find any reference as to how this can be acheived.

For the example above I know I could simply enter 2.75, or enter it as a text field but I do not want this. Surely there must be a way!!

Cheers

Probably not a soloution for you but at least worth looking into. Enter the fraction as text but "USE" it numerically with the EVAL function, as in:

? Eval("11/4")
2.75

There is never time to do it right but there is always time to do it over

Or, perhaps create a numerator field and denominator field, then create a query to make them look the way you like:
Vulgar:Cstr([numerator]) & "/" & Cstr([denominator])
