Impromtu catalog change, error

I have added a new table to the existing catalog, and also joined it with another dimension

of the catalog(left outer join).
when i add any column from this table the report freezes and the connection of database

drops and I get the below errors.
What could be the reason.?

Error number -239:

DMS-E-GENERAL, A general exception has occurred during operation 'prepare request with

options'.
DMS-E-GENERAL, A general exception has occurred during operation 'prepare request'.
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel


Error number -90:

DMS-E-CONNECTIONDROPPED, The connection to the 'prepare request' database has been

terminated due to an unrecoverable error.
ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE

When ever I add a table or a field to a catalogue , I get something similar.
The only I found so far , is to update the catalogue the way you did , then close Impromptu and restart , then it works.

I have tried it, but still, its the same.
I think its depending on the way we pull the columns.

What do you get if you copy paste the sql genreated by Impromptu in Sql+ or in toad ??

Is it dropping also the connection to the db ??

I am unable to do that, as I have not been assigned for it.

Now I am able to get the data, but when I try to push the columns up/down, it freezes, so I am leaving it just the way I pulled the columns.
Actually I started with the columsn of the new table and proceeded further.
It was like a trial and error method.
Do u have any reasons why this happens??
