impromptu for cognos 7.4, how does one display a column with the attribute varchar(max)?

any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

I don't quite understand what you are requiring - MAX is a summary function and VARCHAR is a data type. Are you trying to display the greatest length of a string value or the greatest value of a string or something else?

soi la, soi carré

thanks for the reply
i got it answered through word wrapping:

- click the field in the report
- Right click
- Select Properties
- Select Layout tab
- click in front of "Multi-line with word wrap"

This will make very long text fields "wrap" in a set column width
