create a sort order column in your database and assign values to it the way you want, then your display will be in that order like

IT 1
AUTO MOBILES 2
FINANCE 3

or if you can't add a column to your database table create a separate sort order table in databse which gets data(dept) from main table and assign a sort order code. Use this table in your impromptu.

Hi ,

I created sort order in the database level , i assign the values to the table and then i am trying to access that
table in the impromptu but it showing ascending order instead of descending order. i tried many ways to get that in descending order but in vain .Apparantly in the impromptu report level when i creating prompt i found there
is check box " Sort values " was automatically selected .

could you please help me out
