Impromptu Macro Sample

Can anyone give me a hand?
I need to write a macro for Impromptu to open a report, run for a specified date then output to a file.
I've never written a macro before. Would someone be willing to share a macro example of this nature?
Does anyone know of any references I could use as a tutorial for this & future macros?

In your Cognos installation, there should be a folder called 'documentation'. In there, you'll find a number of pdfs that provide a lot of help in using Cognos applications.
You should open imp_mac.pdf and read that.
Additionally, the help functionality of the cognos macro editor provides a number of samples, many of which can be found within the aptly-named 'samples' folder on the same level as the documentation folder(path: \samples\Impromptu\macros).
