Hi!

When we add tables / columns to Cognos catalog using 'Tables' window, Cognos assigns an internal data type (1 of 18 pre-defined data types) to each of the columns added. If we want to add a column using Cognos Macro this data type is a mandatory argument. However, I could not find any documentation regarding the algorithm for determining this data type based on the Column data type (in our case Oracle).

Does any one know how Cognos determines the column data type when we add columns to catalog?
