Anybody know of a way to copy the contents of an Impromptu Filter Definition expression/s to Notepad, or something else? When trying to do complex combinations of if, then, and, or, etc, long syntax gets confusing in the continous wrapping.

Want to copy the contents to something like notepad, where I don't need tri-focals to be able to see it.

highlight the filter - ctr-C open notepad ctrl-V

Gary,

Tried that, I can Highlight, and CTRL C then CTRL V as long as I'm withing Cognos, but, if I go to any other application, it's as if the clipboard is empty.

I'm on version 7.0.809.0 ...

WDbill,

You're right. The CRTL-c / CTRL-V process won't work in the
"Filter" tab.......You CAN go to the "Profile"; "SQL" area
and Highlight;CTRL-C to Word or Notepad.
Although this is the expanded generated SQL.
Version 7.1 allows you to drag the "Filter" tab window to
almost any size you want. At least that way you can have
a much larger window that is viewable, and then use the
"Print/Scrn" key to CTRL-V into Notepad or Word.
It's only a screen print, but is allows you to display
the filter......sometimes they can get kind-of long.

I was hoping that might be one of the enhancements for the newer version of Impromptu.

Thanks for the reponse :)

Best Regards,

Bill
