Impromptu Export to Excel loses Group Headers

When I export a report from Impromptu into Formatted Excel, the Group Header information is not always exporting properly. It appears the Group Headers are sometimes lost when a group change occurs at the same time as a page break.

I know the "Export to Excel" feature does not support Report Headers or List Headers but it's supposed to support Group Header information.

Is this a known bug?
Does anyone have a proven work-around?

pelyco,

What version of Impromtpu (full release number) are you using? What is the Scope of the Page Header? Scope is set under the Properties | Layout tab.

I'm using Impromptu Administrator 7.0.702.0 dated 2002-05-05.

The scope of the Page Header is set to "All Data" but I'm not talking about the Page Headers being exported. I'm talking about the Group Headers being exported improperly.

e.g. I'm listing records for cars. My report is grouped by Model Year, Make, Size. When I save the report in PDF, everything works perfect. When I save the report as Formatted Excel, sometimes the group headers are shown and sometimes they are lost. The group headers seem to get lost when I have a page break in PDF and the group level changes at the same time. I have tried all combinations of repeating/non-repeating headers but it still doesn't solve the problem.

pelyco,

I know you are talking about group headers, not page headers, but sometimes there is a relationship between the two. The scope of data in the Page Header can override the page breaks in the Group area of the report. Try making the scope of the page header the same as the current group page break. Then try it with the current group page break turned off, but keeping the scope in the page header. See what happens in each case.

I'll see what else I can find out and get back to you.
