Impromptu Error

I have a user trying to access an Impromptu report using Impromptu user. When he clicks on the report to open it, he gets a dialog box saying -
"xxxxx.imr is not a valid Impromptu Report"

When he clicks OK, he gets another dialog box saying -
"Failed to open document %1. Its location has changed. Please check the full path of this file."

I can access the report fine from various computers using both Impromptu Admin and User.
All of his security is set up properly, I verified that.
I can't figure out what could be set up wrong - is it something in his configuration manager??

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

can he open any catalogues? I assume his version of Impromptu (eg 7.1.***) is the same as yours and he's running the same OS version.

Yes, he is on the same version and os as I am. The reports he is trying to access is from an earlier version, but I am able to open them just fine.
I am not sure if he can open the catalog, I will have to check that out.
 
This problem is very strange - I can open the catalog just fine and create reports from it, but still cannot open the old reports.
However, if I open the old reports from my pc and save them over again, I can open these newly saved reports from the user's machine ONLY if I have the catalog open already. If I try to open the newly saved report without first opening the catalog, nothing happens - no error or anything.
I really have not idea what is going on - I am guessing that it has something to do with the version, but it is strange that I can work with the reports just fine and the user can't.
Let me know if any more information is needed.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Are multiple versions of Impromptu installed on the machine?
If so, the registry may be set to launch an older version of Impromptu when you double-click on the IMR from Explorer, versus double-clicking the CAT from Explorer. By opening Impromptu first, you are certain of which version you're in.

That is the only version of Impromptu installed on the machine. I also made sure that I had it open first, just to ensure that I was using the correct version. It's strange that I can open the catalog, but the reports aren't working.
 
It seems you've done a thorough job of troubleshooting. My only other suggestion would be to reinstall Impromptu on that user's machine.

Yes,I'm thinking that may be my next option.
I will post any findings after I try the reinstall.
