Is there a quick and easy way of comparing joins in 2 different catalogues ?

Hi,

We are using 'I-Assistant for Impromptu' with which we can compare 2 catalogs at both catalog and database level (including joins).

We had a demo version from and then we bought it.

I strongly recommend its use, it is just amazing (doc, analysis or reports...).

Graham.

You can build a query then look at the sql,copy and paste it into notepad.
Open the second catalogue, build 2nd query,copy and paste SQL into notepad and compare sql.

On a larger scale, you can print .icr file which details all the joins and fiels in a catalogue, but is quite large.

Hi

You could use content overview function which will output the catalog joins to an icr file. Open this file in an text editor and view the joins on all the tables for the catalog. Do the same for the other catalog and compare!

catalog -> content overview
