Hi,
I'm trying to create a new catalog. After about 2 minutes I get an ORA-04044 error. From the Oracle log I found that the SQL causing this is:
select * from "ALERT_TYPE"
Turns out ALERT_TYPE is an Oracle-type, defined in the package DBMS_SERVER_ALERT. For some reason, Cognos tries to select from a type, instead of a table or view.
ALERT_TYPE is not shown in the list of tables I can select for inclusion in the catalog, so it looks like Cognos finds this "table" somewhere along the way during catalog creation.
I'd appreciate any ideas on how to resolve this (apart from removal of the DBMS_SERVER_ALERT package from Oracle)?
