Impromptu Admin Background Activities

I'm just curious to know what background activities are being performed by Impromptu Admin while connected to the back end database even if no queries are being carried out? Is doing periodic data refresh?

Best as I know, nothing is going on if a query is not running. You are merely maintaining your database connection.
