Hello,

Quick question on Cognos installation. We received new PCs in our Offices (better hardware, same OS (Windows XP SP3)) and since that we have the following issue:

When we run Cognos Scripts (they run reports, create folders and save the files in there) we always get the following error message: "This action cannot be completed because the Impromptu <name of imr file> is not responding. Choose 'switch to' and correct the problem"

So the script will stop at that stage and won't do anything, until you pressed on 'switch to' button. After that it continues runing again. This message often appears as well several times during one script run. Bevor, with the old PCs it worked without any issue (so without this crazy message).

What I found in the Web is that it seems to be an installation issue (so not linked to the new hardware), but I really do not know what is wrong.

Can anyone please help me?

Thank you

Verify that the report has been saved from Impromptu, and that the report and catalog are accessible to the application.

Ensure that you did not double click the report to open it, but that it was opened from Imprompt using File, Open.

Run and test sample reports with sample catalog and see if error happens with those. If so, correct the problem first with the sample reports, then apply your fix to the created reports/catalog/locations.

No quick installation with Impromptu without testing.
