In Impromptu 7.3, Cognos did away with save as Excel Without Format. This has caused the formats of DateTime and loss of column sorting or top 10 after opened in Excel.

Do you have any tips how you got around this? I have searched the Cognos site and have not found any helpful hints. Hopefully there are some setting in Impromptu or Excel that I do not see. I found an Impromptu page for Excel and it asks 2000 or higher, but that did not help.

Thanks in advance!

Sagae,
When I talked to Deltek about the same issue, they said that V7.3 was made that way on purpose to compensate for the different Excel version. Aparantely, they couldn't make the program compensate on it's own. They did away with the Excel without format, and want you to save as a .csv file instead. This basically is the same as Excel without format.
Cognos is no longer supporting Impromptu and wants everyone to move to ReportNet which is why you can't find any info on it.
Good luck
