Hi,

I have Impromptu 7.1 MR2 on a Windows 2000 server machine. When I double click on a report in Explorer, it runs perfectly. I get the output desired and everthing is fine. When I try to use the scheduler to automate the same reports, it seems that the first one hangs the CPU and it causes an instance of ImpAdmin.exe to remain open and none of the other reports will run.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Scheduler is not designed to close Impromptu after a report is run. If your machine is set to only allow one instance of Impromptu, and Scheduler does not close the first instance, no other reports will be allowed to run.
You have several options here:
1. Change your Impromptu settings to allow multiple instances.
2. Write a macro that just closes Impromptu, then call that macro from the Command Script option on the Results tab.
3. Run all your Reports from Macros. Have each macro close Impromptu after completion.
Option 1 is a good idea either way, if you have the resources.
These are only a few options, there are many more solutions available.

Mike,
W.r.t. option 1, above, see Thread401-803514 for details on changing impromptu's 'instance' settings.
