Impromptu 6.0 and MS Access on Windows XP Platform

I continue to get an error trying to attach to a MS Access database, through Impromptu 6.0, on a Windows XP platform. Apparently it has something to do with Windows XP controlling ODBC drivers through MDAC. Any solutions for a fix?

only from version 7 MR1, cognos is supported on XP
