Please help me!!!
I have 2 home computers networked with a crossover cable and 2 3com nic cards running windows 98. they are using netbeui to connect (tcp/ip is also installed). I would like to be able to share an internet connection. I downloaded a program called ANALOG X PROXY, and I can't get it to work. I assigned an IP adress to both computers
(ie. IP address (host)10.0.0.1 & 10.0.0.2 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0)
They both showed that they were on the right IP addresses using winipcfg, but I couldn't ping the other computer. I don't have win98 second edition, and I heard that the sharing isn't that great anyway. Is there anyway to make this work? What am I doing wrong? Is there a better program? Do I have to do anything else other than install this program to make it work? Any help would be appreciated because this is driving me crazy.

Thanks in advance!
Brandon

Analog X should have documentation, I belive that you have to set the client's PC's Gateway to the host PC (or was it Nameserver) I am uncertain.

Nick I would highly recomend it too, but analogX is free, and it's just perfect for sharing if thats all you need, Wingate cost about 80$ for the pro version( I couldnt stand the home version) , but it is least 100% transparent sharing

wingate is free if you only have two computers (at least it used to be, has that changed?). Since I have three computers at home now, I bought the standard version. works great.

FYI, if you have windows 98 second edition, or windows 2000 (and I assume windows me) have internet connection sharing included with the operating system.

Wingate is great I am running over 150 users behind it without a glitch one.
