Importing XML

Hi guys and girls.

I am new to using XML imports in InDesign, and I have a problem, can you help?

I am bringing in an xml file saved out of Excel, I need the date format to remain (e.g 10 September 2005, but whenever I bring in the file (even though this is the way it is set in Excel, it comes in as 2005-09-10 which is annoying!

Woulds appreciate some help, cheers
