I have a huge spreadsheet that I've been tasked to turn into an Access database, but have only a passing familiarity with the app. The data on the sheet looks like this:

Programmer: REQ ID: Member: Ticket #:

John X Y3943071 BL39RRDB 26827
BL19CRDB 30693
BL01
Jeff B Y2260103 WD16CRDB 38198
WD17CRDB
WD59CUDB
ITS03DBS
ITS04DBA
Tim W Y7505074 CB22RRDB 25368
35226
13568

OKay, the issue is that I would like to import the information straight into a table, but find that I cannot. I need to use the REQ ID as the primary key, with possible multiple members and Ticket numbers per ID. How can I import straight? Or am I in trouble?

Any dog is just a dog. But if he has you
by the butt he's MR. Dog!

If you fill in the information thats repeated per record (see below) you will be able to import as a single table. Then you can use the tools -> analyze -> table command to split it so that the information unique to each programmer is in one table and all the other related information is in another table or multiple tables depending.

lol Im sure there are other ways to do this... Good luck!

Programmer: REQ ID: Member: Ticket #:

Thanks for the quick answer, but I probably need to explain further. Each REQ ID constitutes one record. So if I access REQ ID #Y3943071, I need it to include all members and ticket numbers. When I use the analyzer, it wants to split each John X into a separate record. Is it possible to import so that it will do this?

Thanks in advance!
