When I import a Tiff graphic into PageMaker it appears with a white bakcground. I need the background to be transparent...I have been using fireworks for a long time and so far I am finding the UI in PageMaker a little frustrating..Any suggestions?

I don't know anything about Fireworks because I use Photoshop, but to get a transparent background you have to create a clipping path in your image, then place in Pagemaker and then you will have transparency.

Pagemaker does not allow for transparent backgrounds in TIFFs. You will need to create a clipping path around the image, and as far as I know, FW does not support clipping paths. Photoshop does. You may want to ask the FW forum if anyone there knows how to make a clipping path in FW, but I doubt it, since FW is an app designed for making web graphics and clipping paths are primarily a print graphic tool. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
