Importing text

When importing text from a word processing document by copying and pasting is there any way for it to change the font from the word processor document to the font already on the page instead of becoming the default font??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which version of ID are you using? If your'e using CS, then there's a checkbox in the General preferences that enables you to tell ID to preserve or not preserve RTF comments in Word text from the clipboard. If the checkbox is unchecked, the text will paste as ASCII and pick up the formatting that's set at the insertion point. You need to apply a style or manually format at the insertion point (or text frame) first.
