We have FrameMaker 6.0 on the Mac and I'm trying to set up a catalog with all the text information being imported from an Excel database that will be updated periodically in the future. We want to import and link this Excel document so it will automatically update the imported text in the FM document as changes are made to the original Excel database. We could do this with the publish/subscribe feature but my understanding is that if the document is to be cross-platform compatible you should import text by reference (text inset). Is there a way to import by reference to create multiple text insets? We need the information from each line in the Excel database to fall next to the picture of the object it is describing. Right now when I import it as a text inset I get the whole database.
