Hi,

I'm trying to get tables imported into Pagemaker 7.0 from another file format (f.e. ASCII files).

The intension is to generate a file from a certain database with information so it can be imported into Pagemaker into a table. I haven't found any proper way of doing this. Could someone help me out here?

Thanks!

Hi, marvelstone,

If you're a heavy table user, then you should look to InDesign.

PM will import both Word and Excel tables directly, but in RGB format not always 100% satisfactorily.

The options are:

1. Create a PDF of your table and place it in PM

2. Select and Copy the table from Word or Excel and Paste into Illustrator (or Paste Special into CorelDRAW, which is reported to work better for this procedure).
Save as a CMYK EPS.
Place this EPS in PageMaker.

Do not use OLE. (See faq227-5345 )

There is also Adobe's Table Editor. The preferred method is to export the Table as EPS and place that in PM.
