Me again,

Having some trouble with a very small movie (7.2k) that I created in Swish. It's simply a graphic that fades into view while spinng 360 degrees, no text or anything else.

When i export it like Swish says in the help files i can:
1) View it if I click on it from explorer
2) View it when I import it into flash as a Movie Symbol and then view the movie symbol

What I can't do is get it to play along with the rest of the movie. Flash must be recognising it because it's playing it if viewed as the symbol, yet drop the symbol onto the stage and then export or test the scene and it's as if you haven't included the file!

Any help is much appreciated.
Andy

Andy,

Create a folder somewhere (like in My Documents).
Once you have created the movie in Swish, save it to this folder (that will be the .swi file) and then click on File/Export SWF. Save this SWF to the same folder as above.

Next, in Flash, put the cursor in the frame where you want the Swish to play, and then click File/Import and select the SWF. This should embed it in the Flash movie.

Matt - have tried that method as well. it still doesn't show the movie.

Ah, I can't get to my sameplanet mail till I get home. You can send it to rod.allsopp@c-3.co.uk if you like and I'll have a look. Is it in flash as a movie clip..? i don't have swish so don't send me the swish file. funkymonk B-)

Andy,

Send me the swish file in my email and I will import it for you and send you both back. I would prefer the .swi file if you can.

It's been done.

Swish added mask layers to each individual frame of the animation but didn't create an actual mask. So it was there and playing all along, just couldn't see it was all. funkymonk B-)
