Importing swf into flash 8

It has been a while since I have used flash but I remember in flash 3 being able to open a .swf file. However with Flash 8 when I try to import it, it doesnt import into frames like it used to, it just imports the movie.

I have downloaded a .swf from a tutorial site and want to see how someone created the effect I am look for.

Any help would be appreciated.

You won't find that out with a .swf, actionscript is not imported, even if the movie is not protected against import...
You'd need a decompiler, to decompile the .swf back into a .fla, where you can see it all, unless some obfuscator was used, to obfuscate the coding...

Gotcha thanks... yeah I need the action scripts. I followed the tutorial and could not get it to work... so I wanted to see how they did it in the final image.
