I have a "minimum" Sales Journal field list setup in order to import sales into PeachTree 2004. I did a backup just before running the import routine. The Sales Journal came in just fine so I am sure that the procedure I'm using is correct. I did notice a problem with 1 entry that would not import.

Subsequently, I rebooted the computer, and I did a "restore" to the data to get back to square one ... then tryed running the import again. Now for some reason, I got error messages saying there was something wrong with the "DUE DATE" field in Line #2. I certainly can't see any problems with my file. When opening it in Excel, it looks fine.

Now I get a messages saying "Can't Open C:\sales.csv file for Importing".

I recreated the import CSV file again, giving it another name.
Same result.

It seems as if Peachtree has locked out the importing functions.

Has anyone seen anything like this ??

Here's the beginning of my CSV file and one Sales Journal Entry:

Customer ID,Invoice/CM #,Date,Date Due,Accounts Receivable Account,Sales Tax Code,Number of Distributions,Description,G/L Account,Tax Type,Amount,Sales Tax Authority
DomU,21079,01/31/06,03/02/06,1200,NP,4,"Non Profit Sales",2390,0,0.00,NP
DomU,21079,01/31/06,03/02/06,1200,NP,4,"115,000 - 26th Annual Benefit Tickets 7/book",5007,1,-1249.57,NP
DomU,21079,01/31/06,03/02/06,1200,NP,4,"6272 - Additional Annual Benefit Tickets",5007,1,-68.65,NP
DomU,21079,01/31/06,03/02/06,1200,NP,4,"30863 - Additional Annual Benefit Tickets",5007,1,-335.64,NP

Thank you ....

Did you map your fields in Peachtree's import Sales Journal to the CSV file you have?

Thanks blueboyz for replying ....

I found the problem ... I had a carriage return + line space in the invoice description field. The import routine burped!
The import program didn't recognize it as a proper CSV format.
