I use Act in a way that it was probably not designed for, we have ~200 data fields that I have to import into on a quarterly basis. I have assigned all of the contacts a numeric ID, which is the field that I use for all of my importing. Sometimes the imports work, sometimes they don't. Some times certain fields will work for certain contacts and those same fields will not work for other contacts and I have not been able to determine any pattern for the fields that do not work.
Does IT Import solve this problem, or at least reduce the errors? The last time that I imported, it took me 7 full working days to get everything in and accurate.
