Hey,
Im trying to import a dxf file from Acad2002 to Illustrator to save it as a .ai file. What I have to do first is to take the original dwg cad file and explode all the Hatching, as AI does not support hatching elements. So, I explode and then export from cad to a .dxf file. I then open the dxf in AI, but the exploded hatch (now seperate small lines) do not appear at all.
I know what the problem is, it's the fact that the lines (which are so small appear as dots in CAD) are soooo small, that they do not register with AI and dont get imported, and they are not even there as I cannot select anything where they should be. If I was to take one of the lines and strech it in cad to a slightly longer size....dxf the open in AI, it appears ok in the image.
The lines are not polylines, and are exploded to their most basic state.
Is there anyway of making AI recognise these small elements in the dxf file so that they appear as is in the .ai file??
I have loads of drawings, with loads of hatching, so this is a big problem for me!!
thanks for you time. Jay~
