Importing Photoshop Image into MS Publisher

I can import Photoshop created JPEG image into publisher of about 2.3 Mb and about A4 size. I cannot import another JPEG image into same document on another page. This image is just under A3 size and is 6.3Mb at high resolution, down to 1.62 at low resolution. I have tried to import all levels of quality with no success.

The document into which I am trying to import is 84.2 MB.

I have 256 Mb Ram

I have also tried to import into a blank document to no avail!

Any suggestions please.

Sounds as though there is a problem with the JPG file itself. Did you save it as a 'progressive'? Re-open and resave the file, making sure that this choice is NOT selected. The progressive format is for use on the web (displays the picture differently) but often will not play nicely in layout apps.
