My church has an attendance program that was written with Paradox 3.5 and ran great in a stand-alone DOS environment. We are now in a Windows network environment and the program crashes regularly, requiring many table recreations. We have Paradox 9 and would like to know how to import the program into it so that it is functional across the network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Randy

First, you will not be able to import the software. The best you can do is bring the data across in the original tables and recreate the program. PAL and ObjectPAL are two different language concepts. You may be able to use some of your code to model the new software, but that's about it. All reports and forms will have to be recreated.

The upside is that it sounds like this would be a good starter project for learning ObjectPAL since it is probably not too complex. Feel free to dive in and then return here and ask your questions, or search the FAQs and threads. We're here to help!

There is also a current church attendance/accounting package that is written in Paradox. Don't remember the name right now, but a google search should bring it up.
